FSSAI is acronym of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, which is a consolidating statute related to food safety and regulation in India
Food license or FSSAI license should be obtain all manufacturers, traders, restaurants, carrying out any food business which may involve the product of human consumption.
FSSAI registration is required thus who have the annual turnovers of less than ₹12 Lakhs business operators which mean petty food business operators
Manufacturers or sells any article of food himself or a petty retailer, dealer, itinerant vendor, juice stall, sweets shops or temporary stall holder; or freshly prepared food by traveling on movable cart or foot from one location to other, Small scale or cottage or such other industries relating to food business or tiny food businesses
FSSAI License – State is required thus who have the annual turnovers of less than ₹12 Lakhs to 20 crores which does not classify as a petty food business operator
FSSAI License – Central is required for import and export food product and large food manufacturers and processors of food products
